Privatization of Yoga: not happening
Our prisons, schools, and water may be for-profit, apparently, but at least that yoga flow won’t be. In the past, Bikram Choudhury and others have been allowed to patent yoga moves or sequences under copyright laws that allow for protection of choreography. Seeing as there is really nothing new under the yoga sun, this seems pretty silly. Finally, this month, the copyright office agrees.
Evolation Yoga, target of one of Bikram’s many lawsuits, breathes a sigh of relief. Raise your Beerasana glass for justice.
